i think if you gave a ship bonus of +X% to mining yeild you would have a very popular ship, as long as other aspects were weak, it could be a pretty balanced ship. a bonus to mining yield would be very very popular i think

i do think its important to keep med and low slots to a minimum on the miner ships, else you're almost back up to having a BB (cept for pwrgrid) for mining you need at most 2 med slots, (survey scanner/booster) but could probably get away with onl...

good idea but you need more that 10-15 minutes some time.. if you are out scouting 50 jumps from a station and get your ship killed by npc pirates, it may take 60 min to get to nearest station... one idea is to give it a sort of auto-auto pilot....

nicely put, but i don't see why labeling thieves thieves and introducing the right vs wrong thing will be an issue.. everyone knows piracy is wrong, but pirates do it anyways and many victims, tho they don't like it, admire it as part of the game ...

another hacking ability could include gaining access to the target corps corp chat, allowing spying etc... this would probably drive many people to other password-protected channels, but of course you could apply hacking to those as well..
